BEMER & Sports therapy

BEMER PEMF Therapy
Tammy personally experienced Pulse Electromagnetic Field therapy and realized the benefits it created in recovery and healing.  In researching multiple PEMF brands, she selected the BEMER to offer horses to compliment the massage sessions, targeting the microcirculatory system to optimize blood flow and carry away toxins released from the muscles.

Designed with its proprietary signal in Germany and manufactured in Switzerland, Tammy realized the technology and ease of use was unsurpassed by US products, so she became a distributor! Contact her for personal purchase information – there are both horse and human Bemer sets available to optimize health and wellbeing.

Massage
From world renowned Equissage International in Leesburg, VA Tammy became Certified in Equine and Canine Massage, CEMT, CCMT.
This massage sequence was developed by founder Mary Schreiber in the Thoroughbred racing industry. It’s success soon spread to regional show barns and then to nationally recognized horse shows. Before long, the certification program was offered. There are now more than 2000 Equissage graduates throughout the US and in 19 foreign countries.
Among the many documented benefits of massage are:
• Enhances muscle tone and range of motion.
• Reduces inflammation and swelling in the joints, thereby alleviating pain.
• Promotes the healing process by increasing the flow of nutrients to the muscles by aiding in carrying away excessive fluids and toxins within the horse.
• Creates a positive effect on the contractual and release process of the muscles...releasing tension...relaxing muscles.
• Stimulates circulation by: defrosting frozen muscles, thereby releasing endorphins - the body's natural pain killers.
• Helps to maintain the whole body in better physical condition.

Cold Laser therapy
Tammy was introduced to the MiniPhaser at a 3 day equine biodynamics clinic, and she had to add it to her therapy portfolio. The MiniPhaser is a patented handheld device that uses light and vibration therapy for targeted areas to help horse’s muscles relax and recover.
The MiniPhaser uses 3 wavelengths of light. Red, InfraRED and Full Spectrum. All of these wavelengths have been found to help relieve pain. The Red allows for superficial penetration into the tissue while the InfraRED penetrates deep into the tissue. Red light has also been found to create ATP and increase circulation. The Full Spectrum covers all the wavelengths including blue which has been found to trigger the brain to respond better to light therapy. There are 4 intensities and the LED lights are synced with the motion of the vibration.

Other therapy services
Cranio Sacral Therapy is used on horses that are extremely tight or non-tolerant of manual therapy.  Craniosacral opening diaphragm therapy frees restrictions in the nervous system by influencing and restoring the “cranio-pulse” balance, and is often used as a pillar in the work of Equine Osteopath, Anna Schueler, of Pure Body Balance.

Kinesiology Taping – By applying tape to the horse's hair, it simulates the hair follicle—which originates in the second layer of skin—lifting it up, and bringing blood flow to areas to help with pain or stress. Taping provides muscle support in training through increased joint and muscle flexibility, strength, and recovery, and for rehabilitation in reducing swelling, inflammation, soreness and stiffness, including pain relief.  Tammy completed the Equi-Tape Fundamentals course training.
